Autism Outreach Support Worker  

Permanent Contract, Full-time 36 hours

Job Purpose

Providing a range of supports to a client group with Autism Spectrum Disorder this role will identify goals and put measures in place to achieve outcomes within the framework of an Autism Support Service. 

Reporting to a NLN Centre Manager, in consultation with the Health Service Executive, the role will manage a client group referred to the service; develop working relationships and encouraging the participation of clients; and assessing current skill levels, exploring person centred goals and identifying support requirements for each client. 

Additional duties will include supporting clients to engage with their communities and connect with the support networks; and providing the opportunity for individuals to engage in capacity building activities. 

 

What we’re looking for:

*       Hold a third level qualification to at least degree standard in Education/Social Care/ Psychology or have equivalent relevant work experience

*       2 years working with people with ASD 

*       Experience of maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the provision of the service

*       Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

 
 
 

Your Responsibilities

 

*       Manage a client group referred to the service, planning time and work allocation for individual and group work, record keeping, meetings etc. 

*       Develop working relationships, foster trust and confidence and encourage participation of clients. 

*       Assess current skill levels, explore person centred goals and identify support requirements for each client. 

*       Support clients to identify how they would like to live their lives, spend their time, engage with their communities and connect with the support networks they will need in the future.
