Board Director 

Role Purpose

The Rehab Group is currently seeking a volunteer Board Director, preferably with knowledge of the Further Education sector. If you have experience in the Further Education Sector we would like to hear from you. This will be an opportunity to play a key role in helping people with disabilities become more independent and more included in their communities.

 
 

What we’re looking for:

*        Knowledge of the Further Education Sector

*        IT skills

*        A deep appreciation and knowledge of the charity sector.

*        An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values.

*        Commitment to the highest levels of corporate governance.

*        Previous board experience is not essential.

 
 
 

Your Responsibilities

 

*        Oversee the Rehab Group’s Further Education strategy

*        Ensure good governance

*        Inputting to the strategic direction, contributing with insight, oversight and experience of strategy formulation in other sectors.

*        Shape policies and procedures.

*        There are approximately six board meetings per year. Meetings will be held in Rehab Group Offices in Park West and last approximately four hours.

*        The appointed director will also be expected to join the National Learning Network Committee which meets approximately four times a year online.  The meetings last about two hours.

 

Responsibilities as a charity board director

 

*        Comply with the charity’s governing document 

*        Ensure the charity is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefit 

*        Act in the best interest of the charity 

*        Act with reasonable care and skill 

*        Manage the assets of your charity
