Care Worker Children’s Respite – Ref 11871

Permanent Part Time, 30 hours per week

Location: Navan Co Meath

 

About the Role:

The Meadows is a well-established respite service providing short fun filled overnight breaks for children in County Meath. The role will be to support respite breaks for children with autism and intellectual disabilities.

To support the manager and team leaders of a large dynamic team to provide a high-quality and child-centred service for all who attend.  Children are supported to enjoy new experiences and work on their independent living skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

 

What We’re Looking For:

*         Third level graduate, Health & Social care or equivalent is desirable.  Minimum requirement of FETAC Level 5 in social care or related discipline.

*         A full clean driving licence would be a distinct advantage.

*         Previous experience of working with people with disabilities is desirable. An understanding of current regulations and safeguarding children is required.

*         Good communication skills and the ability to direct are also essential.

*         Experience of working with children or adults in a community or residential/respite environment.

Your Responsibilities:

*         To support the children on their break in appropriate activities both in the community and in house.

*         To document information, update records, and complete necessary paperwork for communication and accountability purposes.  To take on keyworker role and liaise closely with children and their families to ensure a high quality service for all.

*         To ensure all interaction with clients is approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporates choice.  To safeguard the children at all times.

 

Additional Requirements:

*   A full, clean driving licence, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience is desirable.

 

If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland

 

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign.

 

Salary starting from point 1 € 30,942.78 to point 5 € 35,277.12(pro rata), is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification, plus Sleepover allowance and premium pay for bank Holiday and Sunday Shift.
