Job Purpose

 

To provide a personal care service to individuals with Intellectual Disability and Mental Health Difficulties within a high support residential service setting, in an environment which values and respects the individual, fosters a positive behavioral support approach to supporting people with challenging behaviors and an environment that fosters community based living, personal development and social inclusion

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care, or equivalent

  • Training in responses to behavior that challenges and medication management

  • Experience of working with people with a disability.

  • Understand the principles of care and how to put them into practice.

  • Specialist Knowledge in Autism, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy, and Down Syndrome

  • Understanding of Safeguarding & Confidentiality

  • Effective Communication Skills

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Person-Centred Support, Deliver care and activities tailored to each individual's needs, wishes, and preferences
  • Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort, hygiene, and safety.
  • Ensure that all interactions with service users are approached with dignity, respect, equality, and incorporating choice.
  • Actively participate in educational, recreational, and occupational programmes, enabling community inclusion.
  • Promote and be actively involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for service users.

 

Closing Date: 23th July 2025

 

Salary starting from point 1 €29,374.77 to point 5 €33,489.47 and is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
