Community Support Worker - Ref 5112
Permanent, 18 hours per week
Location: Killarisk, Tralee, Kerry
Job Purpose
Dun Laoghaire Outreach Service promotes and supports independent living, community integration, personal development and work opportunities, and strives to meet the needs and choices of Service Users. Post includes delivering person centered, community based supports and activities to individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges. These supports facilitate social, occupational and learning experiences. Reporting to Programmes Supervisor, this role will involve key–working, administration of records, attending relevant training, providing 1:1 support with social activities, as well as working with groups in the community. Liaising with families and monitoring general health and well-being of Service Users.
What we’re looking for:
- Essential: A minimum of one years’ experience working in social care specifically disability services.
- Desirable: A third level qualification QQI5 or higher, preferably in Social Care
- Experience of working 1:1 in the community
- Experience in the area of supporting individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health challenges.
- Full clean driving license.
Your Responsibilities
- To plan, develop, implement, monitor and review appropriate educational, recreational and occupational programs within the community. To ensure best practice in line with up to date research regarding Quality of Life improvements . To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and key community based personnel in the pursuit of accessible community activities for service users.
- To document information, update records, and complete necessary paperwork for communication and accountability purposes.
- To ensure all interaction with service users is approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporates choice
Closing Date:18th June 2025
Salary starting from point 1 €14.48 per hour to point 5 €16.51per hour and is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
