Instructor – IT programme 

Permanent Contract, Full-time 36 hours per week 

Location NLN Hollymount Industrial Estate, Cork  

County Cork 

 

Job Purpose 

The VT Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in accordance with the agreed local training programme specification, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programme. The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to higher level further education or employment. 

 

What we’re looking for: 

 

Qualifications 

*        A third-level qualification in Information Technology or equivalent. 

*        A QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer qualification or equivalent. 

 

Experience & Skills 

*        ICDL/ECDL experience an advantage 

*        A number of years relevant occupational experience of working with learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts.  

*        Experience in delivery of I.T modules e.g. QQI, City & Guilds, ICDL. 

*        Experience in developing and delivering training would be an advantage  

*        Experience in both IT applications, professional administration and related generic subjects. 

*        Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills  

*        An ability to motivate learners and to maintain networks with stakeholders and local communities 

 
 

Your Responsibilities 

 

*        Deliver Training Programmes – Teach QQI Level 3–5 modules, ensuring learners achieve certification and personal development. 

*        Support Learners – Assist learners in setting realistic goals, using tailored techniques to support their personal and mental health recovery journey. 

*        Facilitate Work Experience and Skills Development – Organise placements, teach professional behaviours, and provide constructive feedback. 

*        Maintain Records and Quality Standards – Keep accurate records, produce reports, and develop training content in collaboration with the team. 

*        Ensure Safety and Compliance – Uphold health and safety standards and communicate programme updates to the Manager. 

 

Closing Date: 13th April 2025 

 

Salary starting from point 1 €33263.94 (pro-rata) equivalent to €17.77 per hour, is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
