Rehabilitation Officer

 

Permanent, 36 hours. 

Dublin Rd, Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois, R32 HK11

 

Job Purpose

 

Working with a multi-disciplinary team at local level, the successful candidate will be actively involved in providing ongoing support for Students and Instructional staff on HSE funded programmes.  They will be responsible for coordinating the Person Centred Planning process (PCP) process including the development and review of PCPs.

 

What we’re looking for:

 

  • A relevant degree coupled with a number of years relevant work experience.

  • Previous experience of working with adults within a training environment; adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health difficulties; working in an advocacy role and providing staff support is a distinct advantage.

  • Experience of linking in with and working with external agencies, families and other stakeholders.

  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

  • Experience of working on own initiative with a professional and confident approach.

  • An awareness of disability issues and the skills and abilities necessary to facilitate self-advocacy in others.

  • Training in WRAP facilitation and other relevant specialist training an advantage

  • Report writing skills are also desirable.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

*Facilitate Person-Centred Planning (PCP) Support students in identifying needs and developing their Discovery Support Plans; attend initial and follow-up PCP meetings.

*Provide Individual and Group Support Deliver ongoing emotional and psycho-educational support tailored to students' needs.

 Liaise with External and Internal Stakeholders* Coordinate with families, professionals, and agencies (with consent) to ensure cohesive support for each student.

 Safeguarding and Crisis Management* Respond to crises and safeguarding concerns in consultation with management and the Rehabilitation Psychologist.

 Support Staff Development* Provide structured and informal support to staff through regular meetings and on-demand guidance.

 

Closing Date:22nd June 2025

 

Salary starting from point 1 €40007.07 (pro-rata) equivalent to €21.37 per hour, is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
