Fixed Term, 12 months variable hours

 

Job Purpose

The Relief Canteen & Facilities Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the services/canteen and designated areas of the facility. This role ensures compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Hygiene regulations and provides essential support for the smooth operation of the canteen and facility.

 

Minimum Education & Skills required

  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Hygiene regulations.
  • Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

Work Experience

1 year relevant experience working in a related role

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and good housekeeping within the canteen and facility, adhering to all Health, Safety, and Hygiene regulations and legislation.
  • Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning ceiling vents, to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Ensure adequate stocking of supplies within the centre/canteen.
  • Operate and maintain electrical powered cleaning machines, including vacuums, polishers, and boilers, as required.
  • Monitor and report when cleaning supplies are running low and assist with the ordering of replacements.
  • Report any occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs/maintenance to the appropriate personnel.
