Team Leader

Permanent Contract, 30 hours per week

Location: Seaview Respite, Mountcharles, Donegal

 

About the Role:

The Team Leader will assist the Residential Services Manager in the delivery of a quality ‘client – focused’ residential service.  They will have a role in the management and planning of entry and exiting of service, whilst supporting clients with physical and sensory disabilities in a person-centred respite service. Implementing and ensuring HIQA regulations and RehabCare standards while overseeing the delivery of a quality, customer focused service.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • A third level graduate in Health & Social Care, A management qualification or working towards same.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a similar/related field, preferably in an accommodation-based setting. Must have experience and knowledge of Intellectual Disabilities/Mental Health difficulties and the HIQA process within residential settings. (Any essential training will be provided if necessary).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, logistical skills.
  • Ability to manage behaviours that challenge.
  • Track record of liaising with service users and their families (where applicable) to ensure best quality of care.
  • A champion of Person Centred Planning and Individual Action Plans.
  • A specific interest in services, activities and programmes to cater for the needs of persons with an intellectual disability and/or a dual diagnosis and behaviours that challenge.
  • Ability to maintain networks within the local communities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal colleagues and external agencies.
  • Excellent IT and report writing skills.
  • Maintain quality management system.

Your Responsibilities:

*       To provide leadership to staff on a daily basis in the facilitation and implementation of a Person Centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes, and requirements of the clients. To supervise and support staff by identifying their training needs and development requirements.

*       To ensure the delivery of a quality service by designing, implementing, and reviewing quality monitoring systems appropriate to requirements of a residential service and relevant legislation and standards.

*       To ensure that adequate staff cover is provided and participating in the roster where applicable.

*       To provide appropriate support and assistance in all aspects of independent living, in accordance with individual support plans.

*       To document information, update records, and complete necessary paperwork for communication and accountability purposes in line with HIQA Standards.

*       To work in conjunction with the manager to co-ordinate and plan as appropriate to the needs of the services ensuring the efficient day to day management of the service.

*       To comply with health and safety legislation and ensure the safe use and regular maintenance of all aids and appliances used within the houses.

*       To liaise with families, the multidisciplinary team and other personnel as directed by the Centre Manager.

Additional Requirements:

  • Hold a full, clean manual driving license for at least two years.
  • Be flexible in terms of working hours and days.

 

If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign.

 

Salary starting from point 1 €44,397.12 to point 5 €48,887.15 (pro rata), is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
