Assistant Area Manager

Permanent contract / Full-time 36 hours

Monaghan and Cavan

 

Job Purpose

The Assistant Area Manager will be responsible for assisting in the planning, development and implementation of high quality person-centred rehabilitative and vocational training programmes within their designated area.  This is achieved through a combination of in-centre programmes, in-company training with local industry/enterprises and via blended learning methods.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Relevant professional qualification in BusinessAdministrationEducationSocial Sciences.

  • A recognised QQI/HETAC qualification in Supervisory Management would be an advantage.

  • Experience of working with staff in a supervisorymanagement capacity is advantageous.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.

  • Experience of working with people with a disability/additional support needs in a training environment.

  • Ability to work in a changing environment, manage multiple activities and change initiatives at the same time.

  • A commitment to living the organizational values of Team work, Dignity, Justice, Advocacy and Quality.

  • Possess a clear understanding of the team/department’s goals and objectives.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, anticipatory and written and verbal communication skills.

  • High degree of efficiency and attention to detail.

  • Relevant and up to date understanding of Disability Legislation and Employment Law in Ireland.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall management, on a continuous basis, of the training & development of all service users in accordance with agreed programmes, including HSE and CETB-funded programmes as well as the wellbeing Network (a partnership project with the HSE and funded by Genio); the Home Focus programme, an innovative, recovery-focussed initiative, the only one of its kind in Ireland.
  • Provide assistance and support in the day-to-day management and administration of human resources including communications, motivation, training, development, health & safety, welfare etc.
  • Assist in managing the progress of each service users through the process including: recruitment, assessment, induction, and the IAPIPP process; ensuring that all relevant records and reports are kept confidential and current.  Ensuring that any problems encountered by service users within the fields of health, education and welfare etc. are attended to in accordance with National Learning Network policy.
  • Assist in the implementation and management of all training programmes and achievement of training objectives. Advising on the revision and updating of programmes in accordance with Quality Standards and Certification requirements.
  • Take an active role in the recruitment of service users by liaising with all relevant agencies, individuals, as required.

The role will be office multi-site based at the National Learning Network Monaghan, Co. Monaghan and National Learning Network Cavan, Co. Cavan.

Salary starting from point 1 €55633.07, depending on experience and qualifications.
