Care Worker
Permanent Part Time Contract, 30 hours per week
Location: Tullamore Residential services - Ballard House Autism Residential Service
About the Role:
To promote the development of independent living skills, and to assist service users in their daily living within a supported accommodation service, ensuring their safety and well – being at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
- Training in responses to behavior that challenges and medication management.
- Minimum of QQI Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent
- Full Manual Driving Licence
- Experience of working with people with a disability.
- Understand the principles of care and how to put them into practice.
- Specialist Knowledge in Autism, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy, and Down Syndrome
- Understanding of Safeguarding & Confidentiality
- Effective Communication Skills
Your Responsibilities
- Person-Centred Support, Deliver care and activities tailored to each individual's needs, wishes, and preferences
- Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort, hygiene, and safety.
- Ensure that all interactions with service users are approached with dignity, respect, equality, and incorporating choice.
- Actively participate in educational, recreational, and occupational programmes, enabling community inclusion.
- Promote and be actively involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for service users.
Additional Requirements:
- Hold a full, clean manual driving license for at least two years.
- Attendance at training as deemed appropriate by the management of the service.
