Community Service Manager – Day Services

Permanent Contract, 39 hours per week

Location: Sligo Resource Centre, Sligo

 

About the Role:

To improve the quality of service provision and evidence accordingly. To transfer knowledge from current regulation to that of a day service setting. To ensure the completion and the implementation of the Easi Tool.  To share knowledge, develop and share learning according to the needs of the specific service.

Responsible for the operational management and ongoing development of day services supporting adults with intellectual, physical and sensory disabilities, ASD and other associated diagnosis of the population of individuals supported. The Community Service Manager (CSM) is responsible for the management and development of day resource service and outreach service as relevant to the post. The CSM supports and manages the Programme Supervisors, wider staff team and services allocated within their remit. The day services are committed to supported self-directed living (based on Social Role Valorisation Theory), a person-centred approach and in line with New Directions HSE Policy.

 

What We’re Looking For:

*        A third level qualification in health and social care is essential.

*        A minimum of 3 years’ experience in management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care.

*        To hold or to be working towards a management qualification is desirable.

*        Project Management, People Management / Leadership training or programmes; MAPA Training, Safeguarding Training amongst others.

*        Experience in the strategic planning, development and delivery of a wide range of client focused health and social care services with proven experience of leading and motivating a team with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, logistical and management skills; and the ability to establish and maintain good relationships with internal colleagues.

*        Experience of working with persons with an intellectual disability and/or dual diagnosis, physical and sensory disabilities with management experience in a day resource centre setting being an advantage or similar experience; and the development of relationships with stakeholders and external agencies in the provision of health & social care services; and networks within the local communities

*        Ability to make, develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and funders.

*        Experience of managing and maintaining a focus on Health, Safety, Hygiene and good housekeeping guidelines in a service setting and ensuring best practice, including a track record of liaising with service users and their families to ensure best quality of care.

*        Experience of budget management and control with strong IT skills.

*        Ability to manage complex and challenging services for persons with an intellectual disability and/or a dual diagnosis and behaviours that challenge.

Your Responsibilities:

*        To line manage plan, develop, implement, and manage appropriate personal development, health, educational, recreational, and occupational programmes within the Resource Centre, in consultation with clients and the Staff team, and as directed, advised, and guided by senior management.

*        To ensure the delivery of high quality, coordinated, and seamless services for example, by implementing regular quality assurance audits, including regular reviews including service user representatives, NRAC, advocates, key stakeholders, and funding bodies.

*        To research and work alongside the HSE in implementing the quality vision for day services and linked community/outreach supports.

*        To assist managers in encouraging broad thinking, to meet individual wishes and enhance individual services within the scope of New Directions. Thus, ensuring each service works within the PCP framework

*        To transfer knowledge through training supports and cross learning as per resource/manager/staff team require.

*        To ensure that each team is prepared and ready for regulation and accountability with regard to the above.

*        To introduce reviews, audits and other performance systems to enable learning and development as regards New Directions, standards and forth coming regulation.

*        To devise and undertake reviews and audits as agreed by the management team to monitor the above.

*        To ensure that all policies and procedures of Rehab Group are adhered to and that all administrative processes are completed as necessary including the administration of the Compass database and KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). To ensure that all plant and equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Hold a full, clean manual driving license for at least two years.
  • Be action orientated; enjoying working hard and seeking challenges with an ability to act and react as required, even in circumstances of limited/incomplete information.
  • Be flexible regarding working hours and travel in order to meet the operational needs of the service and organisation.
  • Participate in an on-call rota, as required.
  • Flexibly adapt to take on other reasonable duties/projects if required by the ISM.

 

If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland

Salary starting from point 1 €56,439.09, to point 5 €60,368.19 (pro rata), is subject to experience and qualification.
