Permanent (39 Hours) Contract

 

About the Role: 

 

The purpose of the job is to promote and support independent living and community integration personal development and work opportunities for people with mild intellectual disabilities within the HSE guidelines of New Directions. To assist the Manager in the development, implementation and delivery of quality customer focused and cost effective community services to service users at an appropriate time and setting. This includes the provision of individual programmes and activities to meet people’s needs, choices and abilities.

 

What we’re looking for: 

  • A Third level graduate, Health and Social care equivalent

  • MAPA, Occupational First Aid, Manual Handling, infection prevention

  • Experience of working with adults with disabilities

  • A champion of Person Centred Planning and Individual Action Plans.

  • To attend and adhere to RehabCare mandatory training programmes

  • People management skills, with proven experience of leading and co-ordinating

  • Experience of the design and delivery of individual programmes for people with disabilities or those who are marginalized

  • To travel to various areas within Ireland to participate in RehabCare training programmes

  • Full Clean Driving Licence preferable 

 

Your Responsibilities 

 

  • Build trusting relationships and communication with service users, facilitating them to identify their goals, strengths and needs.

    Support service users to establish and enhance their natural support circle.

  • Supporting service users to identify the community based supports they would like to avail of and work with service users to identify practical solutions to any barriers to accessing these supports.

  • To manage the day to day delivery of a person centred service for all clients who avail of the Resource Centre.

  • Provide service users with accessible information on available community based supports, ensuring all activities and supports are monitored and are maintained at an appropriate pace to ensure sustainability.

  • To advocate on behalf of and support self-advocacy for service users in a number of settings, including, with family, HSE, community groups etc.

    Development and completion of positive risk assessments

  • To document information and complete paperwork as deemed necessary for delivery of service to the clients who avail of the Service for accountability purpose.

 

Closing Date: 31st July 2025 

 

Salary starting from point 1 € 37,138.5 per annum to point 5 € 43,028.82 per annum  pro rata and is subject to negotiation depending on experience and qualification.
