Senior Financial Accountant

Job Purpose

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for providing financial expertise, analysis, and advice to key stakeholders within the CHO (Community Healthcare Organisation) division and organisation.

The Senior Financial Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller with ownership and responsibility of own CHO/s and will support the Financial Controller in the management, co-ordination and delivery of an efficient and effective Finance Function.

You will work closely with senior leaders across departments, ensuring effective and timely financial reporting and deliverables for your assigned CHO.

The role will involve driving financial performance, streamlining processes, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring that all financial activities align with the organisation’s objectives. This position combines strategic financial management with operational support to ensure the organisation and CHO are making the most of its resources, both in terms of funding and operational.

What we’re looking for:

*       A NFQ8 qualification or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.

*       Qualified Member of relevant accountancy body with PQE.

*       Minimum 5 years’ finance experience post professional qualification.

*       Working to tight deadlines in large complex accounting function—essential function whilst maintaining high quality of work—essential

 
 
 

Your Responsibilities

 

*       Prepare the annual budget for review including the monitoring of the budget vs. the actual budget explaining key financial movements in conjunction with the Financial Controller in line with Group’s Policies and Procedures and reporting timelines.

*       Produce accurate, effective and timely monthly management accounts including: ensuring consistency of financial reporting, providing detailed supporting schedules outlining key data movements, identification of challenges and opportunities in line with best practice (FRS102 SORP) and within Rehab Group policies

*       Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (Financial and non-financial backgrounds), acting as the first point of contact for all finance-related queries. These include the Regional and Centre managers for responsible CHO/S.

*       Identify opportunities to improve existing financial processes, focus on increasing analytics capabilities, including new initiatives to analyse data in a timely and meaningful manner. Raise feedback for potential opportunities to optimise and standardise methods and processes. Work across the function and the organization to enable full cross collaboration.
