Manager – Aspect A.S Support Services

Permanent Contract, 39 hours

Aspect Service, Penrose Wharf, County Cork

 

Job Purpose**:**

The purpose of the job is to ensure the delivery of the highest standards of professional support and intervention to clients of the Aspect A.S. Support Service. The Manager is the most senior leadership position within Aspect, and s/he has responsibility for oversight of all Aspect Service processes.

Clients of the Aspect Service are over 18 years of age, finished in second level education, and have a primary diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome (A.S.)/ ASD Non-ID.

S/he will oversee all service structures, and will ensure that the ethos and mission of the service is upheld. S/he will lead the direction and future development of the service. S/he will ensure that client safety is at the forefront of all service processes. S/he will safeguard service structures, ensuring they can grow in line with client support and intervention needs.

The Manager is responsible for ensuring successful collaboration across all Aspect Service structures, instilling a holistic approach to client intervention. S/he will achieve this through effective management of an equitable, accessible, person-centered service for adults with A.S.

 

Minimum Education & Experience required:

         Essential:* A minimum of five years’ experience working in a management in the field of disability, education or training.

         Essential:* A third level degree in Social Care, Education, or Health.

         Essential:* Qualification in management and leadership.

         Essential:* Experience in a management in training, health or educational environment, with individuals with an A.S. or ASD Non-ID diagnosis

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

         Responsible for all aspects of managing a dedicated team of staff. Delegate responsibility appropriately across the Aspect team, ensuring that the necessary training, supervision, controls, and internal processes are in place. Oversee and work closely with the Assistant Manager to pursue professional excellence across all service and staffing areas. Act* as the overall line of accountability for all Aspect staff.

         Ensure the effective financial management of the service. Champion service development and effective financial supports for same. Ensure* appropriate financial management systems are in place. Remain informed of the budget situation at all times.

         Uphold the main objectives of the service. Ensure the highest standard of professional support and intervention is adhered to at all times. Have responsibility* for overall function of all service areas, including key work, Multi-Disciplinary intervention, application processing, internal training workshops, social groups, health & safety, and service administration.

 

Additional requirements

*         Work in a confidential team working environment, which includes lone working arrangements. Typical working hours are between 8am – 6pm, Monday - Friday. Flexibility regarding evening and Saturday working is required. Manager responsible for ensuring an appropriate senior point of contact is available for staff at all times during working hours.

*         Work in the community as required, including attending and presenting at external locations, conferences/courses, etc. relevant to service requirements.

*         Attend all required training as relevant to the role and service.

*         Have a full, clean driving license, with a minimum of 1 years’ experience is required.

*         Have access to a car for business purposes insured in your name.
